There are 2 manga series in the book. In the first series, Magic, the background is set in the futuristic 2200's in the edge of the galaxy. Super model Kana has died in a space ship accident when she traveled to a planet on the edge of the galaxy. Her daughter was found 3 years after the magnetic storm has rested. A distant relative of Kana's adopted the young child, who was a former boyfriend of Kana's. Years later, Kana's child has grown up to be a teenager...

In the second story, Silence, the background is set in modern Japan. A teenage boy is seeking revenge for his brother who was murdered by gangsters. He rides on his bicycle, approaches each of his enemy and then pulls out his pistol! No one is supposed to find out. But someone notices him...

This is the newest work by Reiko Shimizu.. The series is a disturbing manga about solving murder cases by applying the newly developed method of viewing the memories of dead people's brains. And as in every manga done by this mangaka, weird supernatural forces are of course included.

The first chapter is actually a prologue and is concentrated on the first case where this method was used. Chapter 2 is when the two main characters are introduced, so hang on!

Himitsu won the manga excellence prize of the 15th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards, and was also a finalist for Osamu Tezuka Culture Award in 6th (2002).

NOTE: There is a related anime with episodes based on selected chapters from the manga.
